Hayley McKay recently approached me looking to record a cover of 'Coat of Many Colours', originally of course by Dolly Parton, for her Youtube channel.
We sat down and planned the composition, before I laid down all the instrumentation, and she performed vocals over the top. A little mixing and the song was done, and so came shooting the video!
We spend a great couple of days galavanting around the beautiful river near where she lives in Darlington. The first of them brought some pretty terrible weather; the umbrellas and massive coats were out, but we still managed to get a lot of good shots to review and plan for a better day.
That day soon came, with the sun shining and a strong breeze (which is pretty special weather around here, believe me), and we spent another half-day out around the river gathering all the remaining shots.
Back in the studio I synced everything up, and you can check out the results for yourself right here!
Enjoy the video!
